Uses:

Trimethylenetetracycline is an insecticide found in surface water. It is a β-triketone herbicide used to control grass and broadleaf weeds in the early to mid-stage after corn seedlings emerge in the field.

Mechanism of action:

Trimethylenetetracycline is mainly used in corn fields. It is a post-emergence HPPD (parahydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase) inhibitor herbicide that blocks the biosynthesis of isoprenylquinone in the plant, causing chlorosis, fading, tissue necrosis, and ultimately death within 2 weeks.
